Instrumentation and Control SCADA Technician

Responsibilities:

• Design and service wireless SCADA communications
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot SCADA systems
• PLC and HMI programming
• Set up and support for IT networking and servers
• Maintain records on work accomplished, including time, materials, and equipment used
• Quality assurance and quality control on AS2I products
• Field installation assistance and troubleshooting
• Approximately 12 weeklong trips/year to service U.S. based customers
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Computer Information Technology (IT) Diploma or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how programing and mechanical components work together
• Ability to work independently within a team environment while following instructions from supervisor
• Strong work ethic, conscientious and accountable
• High attention to detail and effective time management
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Flexible availability with a willingness to travel approximately 12 weeklong trips/year to the U.S. as well as numerous day trips within the province
• Ability to travel into the U.S. (valid passport)
• Valid Class 5 license and reliable vehicle to use for work
• Ability to drive and walk in rural and outdoor elements and conditions including construction sites
• Experience in SCADA systems, PLC and HMI programming or networking and servers an asset
