    The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to fostering a strong business community by providing resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy for local businesses. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Membership Development Manager to lead our membership growth and engagement initiatives.

    Position Summary

    The Membership Development Manager plays a critical role in driving membership growth, engagement, and retention. This senior-level position is responsible for identifying and securing new members, enhancing relationships with existing members, and leading strategic initiatives that promote the value of Chamber membership. The ideal candidate has a strong background in business development, sales, and relationship management, with a proven ability to meet and exceed targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    Membership Growth & Sales (40%)

    • Develop and execute strategies to attract and secure new Chamber members.
    • Maintain a high retention rate by developing targeted engagement plans for renewing members.
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential business partners and sponsors.
    • Create and implement innovative membership attraction campaigns.
    • Collaborate with the Events & Partnership Manager to drive sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
    Member Engagement & Retention (40%)
    • Lead efforts to enhance the member experience through proactive engagement strategies.
    • Develop and execute initiatives to ensure members maximize their Chamber benefits.
    • Coordinate quarterly Member Receptions and networking events.
    • Maintain ongoing outreach with new members, ensuring successful onboarding.
    • Conduct member visits, follow up with at-risk members, and schedule upgrade meetings.
    • Work closely with volunteers and committees to support member engagement and retention.
    • Represent the Chamber at community events, networking functions, and industry meetings.
    Strategic & Administrative Responsibilities (20%)
    • Analyze membership trends and develop reports with strategic insights for the CEO and Board.
    • Maintain accurate records of membership data and sales activity.
    • Develop membership marketing materials and lead promotional campaigns.
    • Identify and implement best practices to enhance the Chamber's business development efforts.
    • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CEO.
    Required Skills & Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or membership-based organizations.
    • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Exceptional public speaking and presentation abilities.
    • Highly organized with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and business development tools.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for networking and events.
