Procurement Agent

Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with our client in their search for a Procurement Agent to join their team and play a pivotal role in developing their vendor network and maintaining supplier relations. This hands-on position involves close collaboration with management, production, engineering, and sales to source essential materials and equipment promptly, ensuring smooth operations and optimal inventory levels.

• The rate of pay is expected to be in the $80K/year range
• Based in office: Lethbridge, AB

• Managing supply chain operations, including inventory, replenishment planning, and the preparation of purchase orders
• Collaborating with various departments to plan material purchases effectively
• Identifying quality suppliers and vendors that are reliable and cost effective
• Monitoring inventory levels and scheduling purchase deliveries
• Requesting cost proposals, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relations
• Creating reports on inventory levels, purchase orders, and inventory turnover
• Ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing

• Minimum of 5 years procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication skills; including the ability to upward manage, collaborate with different departments, and manage orders with a variety of vendors and suppliers
• Experience with ERP Systems
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Proven history of developing effective inventory management solutions
• Motivated by operations and processes

• SCMP designation or the ability to obtain
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
