    Our client, a local construction company focused on industrial and commercial projects, is in search of a carpenter to join their team. Whether you’re a recent graduate from a carpentry program or someone with a passion for craftsmanship, you’ll be provided with the hands-on experience you need to thrive in the industry.

    Compensation & Hours:
    • The rate of pay has yet to be determined
    • This is a full-time and permanent position
     
    Position Summary:
    • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring, and installing walls and roofing systems
    • Fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, molding, and hardware
    • Analyzing blueprints to understand the scope of the project
    • Assisting in demolition, assembly, and installation of frameworks, structures, and fixtures, such as drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, etc.
    • Transporting, loading, and unloading materials and equipment
    • Measuring, cutting, and shaping materials to precise specifications
    • Painting walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
    • Collaborating with the team to complete projects on time and to the highest standard
    • Operating and maintaining a range of hand and power tools safely
     
    Required Qualifications:
    • 2nd or 3rd year carpentry apprentice status
    • 1 year of experience in the construction industry, ideally in industrial or commercial
    • Previous leadership experience or desire to gain this skill
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and math skills
    • Competent in reading and interpreting architectural/structural drawings
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
    • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques
    • Physical stamina and the ability to handle the demands of a hands-on construction role which may include, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and carrying heavy materials
    • A strong commitment to health and safety protocols
    • Ability to keep a positive mindset and embrace challenges head-on and find solutions to ensure the project stays on track
